Digital Tax Stamps Scheme for Tobacco Products
The Federal Tax Authority (FTA) is committed to implementing its strategy to combat tax evasion, protect consumers, and prevent the sale in of low-quality products that are harmful to public health and the environment. Therefore, the Authority launched the Digital Tax Stamp smart application (FTA DTS), which will initially be available for use on the Tobacco products which allows consumers to verify products that are marked with the Digital Tax Stamps.
Objectives:
- To enhance the detection and tracking of illicit tobacco products.
- It allows consumers to assist the Federal Tax Authority to curb the trade of these products.
- Ensure the consumers that the goods that they are purchasing are authorized and meet the set standards.
